Book Blurb:

Becoming the grandmother of twins changed Harriet Hodgson and altered her life course. According to Hodgson, we live in a fast-paced, complex time, a time when too many grandchildren are victims of bullying, Internet scams, and sexual abuse. Hodgson believes that grandmothers are needed today more than any other time in history.

“Grandmas can’t be passive,” she declares. “Every grandma has the power to protect and guide her grandchildren and needs to tap this power.”

This narrative weaves Hodgson’s personal story with research findings. It’s packed with ideas for helping grandchildren. Hodgson’s age, child development degree, life experience, teaching experience, witness to history, and extensive research converge to make this an inspiring read. Working individually and together, grandmas are changing the world.“The Grandma Force is about the power of love and the power of one,” Hodgson  says. “One-by-one, grandmas are standing up for grandchildren and creating a hopeful future for them.”

  1. I’m coming late to the blog tour, but no less enthusiastic about you, Harriet! I had the Grandma Force on my Kindle, but after reading this, decided I needed to be able to keep it where I could see it and take notes, so I just ordered the paperback copy. Pat, thanks for hosting Harriet. Both of you are amazing women! Be blessed. You’re already a blessing!

    1. Thank you, Patty. I am sure Lady Harriet will be thrilled to hear that you also have a paperback copy. You are a blessing too.
Take care of yourself and have a lovely week.

  2. Hi, Pat, and to all of you who have supported Harriet today!

Harriet, during the creation of this trailer, I was brought to the brink of tears so many times as I remembered both my grandmothers who were simply amazing! Thank you for the inspiration and enjoy your tour which has kicked off in grand style here at Pat’s place!

    Happy Valentine’s Day, all!

  5. I just read Harriet’s contributions to the Watch RWISA Write Anthology last night. I’m a grandmother as well. My six grandchildren live far away from me (three in Michigan, three in New Hampshire) and I rarely see them. I wish I had more opportunities to have an influence on them. I identify closely with Harriet’s experience with raising twins as well, since I had to take in my sister’s two children when they were 11 and 15 in 1997. One of my children was already in college at the time, while the second was about to leave for college. I had to go back to attending PTO meetings, helping with homework, etc. It was a rude awakening but something that had to be done. The “grandma gene” kicked in then, too. Harriet is such a role model for all of us. I appreciate her so much for so many things she does.

Thanks, Pat, for hosting her tour. We have so much to learn from her experiences, as well as yours!

    1. Thank you, Wanda, for visiting. Yes, Lady Harriet is a role model for all of us. I know you miss your grandkids, and I am quite sure when you are around them, they take all of your time because they love you dearly. Grandmothers are special.

  6. Although Harriet admits to being in her eighth decade, her energy and output inspire us all. I have read and reviewed Grief Doodling and need this new book for two reasons: I’m a grandma too (Nana) and I know a friend who is coming out with a book on grand-parenting in May. Thanks, Pat, for the promo here!

    1. Thank you for dropping by, Marian. Yes, it is quite unbelievable the energy that Lady Harriet has. She is an inspiration for us all. It is nice to hear you are a grandmother too. I believe Nana is the Italian word for grandmother. I am quite sure you’re going to enjoy your grandkid.
