That’s a cool t-shirt, Pat. What is Rave Writers all about?
Good Morning, Sonia,
I like my shirt too, because it represents so much growth that I have experience in my own writing. You asked me what is Rave Writers, and I am going to try and give you my short version of what Rave Writers is. Rave Writers was actually started by Author, Publisher, and President of the Rave Reviews Book Club, Nonnie Jules. She is also a published and self-published writer that got fed up with authors putting out poorly written books that cheated their readers out of a good read.
Rave Writers is the home of the RWISA Writers who are a group of authors committed to putting forth excellence in anything thing we write. We belong to the RRBC, which stands for Rave Reviews Book Club. Rave Reviews Book Club is made up of authors and also readers who like to read excellently written books. Not all of the Rave Writers are on what we call, the RWISA Island, but each single author, who is a Rave Writer, has the opportunity to get on the RWISA Island.
Rave Writers get together at book discussions about our books on the market. We have a monthly book discussion show over Zoom that authors attend and discuss the books of the month that are highlighted in THE PIPELINE MAGAZINE. The book of the months are chosen from the team that brings out THE PIPELINE MAGAZINE six times a year.
Rave Writers also get together once a month for a book review show on the Zoom titled RATERS NOT HATERS. It is our goal to review a book fairly. We don’t give five stars, for example, just because you are a friend. We based our books on substance such as Grammar, Structure, Plot and the Goal, Motivation, and Conflict. The critique can be intense but it doesn’t come across as a tool to hurt you. It is there to give the writer direction and encouragement.
Outside of that, we we have Author Spotlight Show which takes place on Zoom and a Author on the Move, and Member on the move, which highlights the chosen members selected for that month, and so many other events that I have failed to mention here.
The majority of Rave Writers are self-published or hybrid writers, like me, and of course our books are broadcasted over our network to all the members who are in the Rave Reviews Book Club.
In order to become a Rave Writer and join me and a few others on the RWISA Island, your writing goes to a board, where it is vetted to see if you are ready to become a part of the group on the RWISA Island. If you are not yet ready, you can attend RWISA University and get your writing up to its highest quality.
There is so much more that I can say about this group of writers, but then I would have to write a book. But like I said at the beginning, I am giving you my short version according to how I see the Rave Writers.
I’m going to close this by saying that I have met many great authors here. it’s like a family of writers. Jealousy and backbiting are not a part of our writing culture. We are competitive but not destructive. We reach out in so many ways to help each other. And finally, we treasure HONESTY. I will go so far as to say HONESTY is one of the backbones of our DNA.
If you think about joining sometime in the future, please let me know. I believe you would enjoy being a part of the family of Rave Writers, and I would love to help you enter into the organization by sharing my tiny bits of wisdom gained through being a member.
Take care and thank you for dropping by. It is always a pleasure for me when you stop by and say hello.

Hi Pat. Thank you so much for taking time to introduce me to Rave Writers. I love the concept, the idea of pitching for excellence in writing. That’s what writers must strive for and promise to their readers. Sounds like a community dedicated to the growth of writers and readers. So kind of you to offer to guide me through it. I’m still in a very nascent stage of my writing but as you said, I could attend the University to strengthen my writing. I think I will come back to you regarding this in some time. Thanks once again xoxo
