DAY 7, JANUARY 8, 2023, A DAY IN MY LIFE…SUBTITLE: SNIPPETS OF ME By Pat Garcia @pat_garcia @RRBC_ORG @RRBC_RWISA @Tweets4RWISA #RWISA #RRBC #RRBC_Community #ADayinMyLife

DAY 7, JANUARY 8, 2023

Today is the Sabbath. However, I have learned from the Spirit that lives within me that I am the Lord of the Sabbath.

That the Sabbath doesn’t keep me from keeping my word or prohibit me from doing good is something I processed some time ago. But processes won at one point in life come back to be modified and strengthened at another level.

Thus, I am sitting at my computer typing out an article. The fact that I’d rather be in my home instead of downstairs in my office was quite evident by how I entered it. It was a struggle, a challenge to a rule I had established that had to be re-examined.

I searched for rigidity. Sure, I have routines that are precious to me, but (and here is the crux of the matter) I don’t want these routines to rule me. I am the Lord over them and not them over me.

My list for today is short:

  1. To read the blog posts from Day 6. I read the posts the day after. I am in Europe, and there is a time difference between us, depending on where you live in the USA and Canada. For some, it could be eight or nine hours. So far, I have commented on every blog where I can post. If I could not post, I have started leaving the comment in the Members’ Chat. If you see that I have tweeted your post and you don’t see a comment from me, something needs to be fixed because I only tweet your post if I have read it and left a comment. So, please let me know if you need one in the members’ chat box.
  2. When I have completed task number one, I will go into my much loved Sabbath and enjoy it.

Have a lovely Sunday.

Shalom aleichem

  1. Hi, Pat. I like your Sabbath better than mine; you can write and use electronics. It’s supposed to be a day of rest for me, where I learn the Bible, but I usually spend the evening and the next day reading a novel. I’m going to get kicked out of heaven.

    1. Hello, Susanne,
Thank you. For me, I understand the Sabbath to be a day of joy and relaxation with friends, family or by yourself, whichever please you and that is what I do.
You’re not going to get kicked out of heaven. God is not angry with you about how you enjoy the Sabbath.
      Have a lovely day.
      Shalom Aleichem

  2. Pat, your posts are always so expressive – like you! You really do lead an intentional life. I have seen comments by you on my posts, so I am sure many of your comments are getting through. I hope you enjoy your “day of rest.”

  3. Hi Pat! I hope you have a beautiful day! I’ll check to see if you left me any comments or messages in the members’ chat. There’s a couple of people that I’m not hearing from. Then again, it may be because I’m not officially competing in this challenge…just looking to make new friends and get back in the habit of writing most days. I’ve been away from writing due to my UFO encounter, divorce, then I went back to school, moved across the country and then I found out my mom really needed my help. Ah, but such is life. Anyway, here’s to wishing you many blessings!

    1. Hello Donna,
As long as your name is on the board, the writers will read your blog posts.
Thanks for the blessings and I wish you many blessings and a awesome 2023.
      Have a lovely day.
      Shalom aleichem

  4. Hi, Pat. I love the way you think. Sometimes making small intentional changes is like fertilizer to an already healthy plant. Nourishment results in growth, and you are growing. Lord of the Sabbath. Indeed you are, beloved child of the King. And Lord over routines, as well. I’m going to take some of that fertilizer and apply it to my own routines. Bless you!

    1. Hi, Patty,
Yes, making small intentional changes is like fertiliser to an already healthy plant.
Thank you for your blessing and I bless you. You are a blessed child of God.
      Have a lovely day.
      Shalom aleichem

    1. Hello Robbie,
Yes, to enjoy the sabbath is a blessing. It is a day to really put the work behind you and to relax your mind.
I hope your hubby is still recuperating nicely.
Take care and thank you for dropping by.
      Shalom aleichem

    1. Hello Marian,
Thank you, but I think the same of you. I think we have that in common, living intentionally.
      Have a lovely day.
      Shalom aleichem

  5. Hi, Pat! I might start doing what you do and wait until the next day to read the posts. I find that I am reading and responding as the notifications pop up in my mailbox, but I always miss one or two, so I then open up each blog listed in the member chat for the day to make sure I didn’t miss anyone. It is take more time to check them all than if I just wait until the next day. Then again, my OCD wants to do it the minute I see the email. So, we shall see if I can wait. Lol! Have a great day, Pat!

    1. Hello, Yvette,
I am glad I wait. I am just getting to the comments left on my previous posts in the Challenge, so I haven’t read any Day 8 posts yet and might not get to them today.
Take care and have a lovely day.
      Shalom aleichem
