DAY 21, JANUARY 22, 2023, Wrap-Up for the Week

Good Morning,

We have just entered Day 21 of the Blogging Challenge. Each day from now on will bring us close to the finishing line.

Today, I will start my Sabbath Day at 6 p.m. I have learned that I needed to rearrange my Sabbath by competing in the Challenge. I get more out of it now, and that makes me happy. I wouldn’t have recognized that there was a better way if I hadn’t participated in the Blogging Challenge.

I am checking out all of my routines. Sometimes they can be killers of new possibilities that are better ways of doing things.

I have decided to keep my agenda planning calendar. I thought about changing to something else. But I saw that what I already have fulfills two essential functions: I write my lists in my agenda app; the days and appointments I have booked go straight to my calendar.

Finally, I will close the office at 6 p.m. and sit back to a movie and a glass (maybe two glasses) of dry Italian red wine.

Congratulations to all who are participating in the Challenge. We’ve made it to Day 21. YEAH! We Are Champions! at least, in this Blogging Challenge.

My List for the starting week:

  1. I’m revising the first 10K of my new novel. It usually takes me at least four to six days to fix 10K. I like to send her my final draft so that she understands the direction I’m moving in.
  2. I have a letter to write. I had decided to wait until after the Challenge, but my gut is telling me to do it now, which is what I will do.
  3. Answering emails and text messages,
  4. Attend my writing classes and do my homework.

Have a lovely Sunday.

Shalom aleichem,

Pat Garcia

  1. Susanne Leist – United States – Welcome, reader. I’m the author behind two paranormal suspense series designed to keep you on the edge of your seat and maybe even tug at your heart. In The Dead Game Series, The Dead walk in the night and into the day, leading our heroines on a dangerous journey from the sunny shores of Florida to the icy reaches of Quebec. My latest project, The Blue Harbor Series, introduces a new pair of heroines determined to save their coastal town from an ancient Indian curse. In Book One: Meet Me In Maine, they confront the curse’s dark origin and the painful legacy of the Penobscot Nation, unjustly uprooted by colonization. So please sit back, put your feet up, and let me bring a little mystery and romance into your world. As a special treat, I invite you to read My Last Year, a heartfelt story written from the perspective of my beloved Maltese, Nounous, my muse, my shadow, and my best friend.

I also changed my routine for the Sabbath so I can post my articles for the Challenge. Since the Sabbath begins after 4 pm on Friday, I write my posts for Friday and Saturday on Thursday. I’m always rushed on Friday to get everything done before I’m banned from electronics. I didn’t find following the Sabbath so hard when I was younger because I wasn’t glued to my computer. Now I feel lost without it. But I get to read books Friday evening and all day Saturday.

  2. maurabeth2014 – Writer of fiction with a touch of suspense and romance. Avid reader, walker, old movie watcher, caffeine drinker, candy muncher (yeah, I said it). #RRBC_RWISA

Pat, I noticed that my comments rarely make it to your blog and get “lost in space” or something, but I’ll try again, tho I made one to this blog before. Glad you had a pleasant Sabbath and, congrats, your to do list is decreasing! Hope your enjoyed your wine.

  3. Shirley Harris-Slaughter – I love old buildings and history. That's why I ended up writing about the history that surrounded me all of my life - "Our Lady of Victory, the Saga of an African-American Catholic Community." Plus our church had closed and the school is torn down, so I felt it was imperative that we preserve the history or it would be lost forever.
    Shirley Harris-Slaughter says:

Pat, congrats on your 20-Day milestone of blogging!

  4. Pat–I so appreciate the fact that you observe the sabbath and are so kind to yourself. We should all be more kind to ourselves. Your list is so well organized. Hope you have better heat these days!

  5. Kudos, Bravo, and other Praise to you, Pat! One of my mentors posted this on Facebook: “The journey of launching your work into the world is a lot like running back-to-back-to-back marathons.” I tend to agree.

Enjoy the day and take time to enjoy the view! 😀

  6. Stories by Karen – USA – Black began writing in 2010, combining imagination and experience to weave dramatic plots with believable characters in descriptive contemporary settings. She writes in a variety of genres, her character-driven storylines filled with adventure and drama in real-life situations. A four-legged character appears in most of her publications, a testament to her passion for animals. The author of novels, novelettes, and short stories, her books have received awards from Readers’ Favorite, Page Turner Awards, Literary Titan, International Impact, and KCT International Literary, along with accolades from Kirkus Reviews. Black lives in the United States with her husband, and two alien creatures disguised as cats. One of them, her muse, is rumored to be ET’s second cousin. The rumor, however, has not been confirmed.
    Karen Black says:

I am a fan of dry, red Italian wine!
