TRULY, I AM THANKFUL @pat_garcia @RRBC_ORG @RWISA_RRBC @TheIWSG #Writingjourney #RomanceReader @amwriting @Tweets4RWISA

Cover by Olga Godim

I woke up this morning with expectancy. Usually, I only look at my iPhone to see the messages and emails I receive after eleven, but this morning was particular, and I did. I have taken a small step in my writing and publishing career. My first paperback, THE POWER OF TOUCH, came out as a paperback and is on Amazon Worldwide.

I read the announcement I received from Amazon, telling me it was up, and I wept tears of joy and spoke soft words of thankfulness. No one knows how difficult it was for me to overcome the fears within me except those close to me and the ONE who watches over me night and day.

I am indeed genuinely thankful.

  1. J.Q. Rose – After writing feature articles in magazines, newspapers, and online magazines for over fifteen years, J.Q. Rose entered the world of fiction. Her mysteries published by BWL Publishing are Terror on Sunshine Boulevard, Dangerous Sanctuary, and Deadly Undertaking. She returned to her first love of writing non-fiction with eBooks on gardening and writing and an inspiring interactive eBook for MG girls, Girls Succeed: Stories Behind the Careers of Successful Women. After presenting workshops on Life Storytelling for 20 years, JQ used the lessons she shared with her participants to pen her memoir, Arranging a Dream: A Memoir. The inspiring story takes place in 1975-1976 when we moved to West Michigan to purchase a floral shop. We did not know anything about running a business, designing flowers or operating a commercial greenhouse business. Blogging, photography, Pegs and Jokers board games and travel are the things that keep her out of trouble. She and her husband spend winters in Florida and summers up north with their two daughters, two sons-in-law, four grandsons, one granddaughter, two grand dogs, four grand cats, and one great-grand bearded dragon.
    J.Q. Rose says:

Congratulations, Pat!!! I have enjoyed seeing your grow and go in your writing career. So glad we met at IWSG. You are an inspiration to us all.

  2. Sonia Dogra – A writer/poet/copyeditor/ex-educationist/mother/plant-lover/reader/yoga enthusiast/mountain girl/keen walker. There's not just one facet to me. I love responding to submission calls and sitting long hours and sometimes for days and months, working on a single poem or short story before turning it in. I enjoy the process of watching my writing go from a to b and then to z, and meandering on an unknown path before having a life of its own. I'm here to share my written pieces and random thoughts, read out poems that I love, and discover life through the lens of a writer.
    Sonia Dogra says:

Many congratulations, Pat. I wish you all success with this journey and many more to you. I hope I can add my bit to your author journey.

    1. Good Morning, My Dear Sonia,
Thank you. You add a lot to my journey and it means a lot to me that yolu are accompanying me on the way.
Take care, and have a lovely day.
      Shalom shalom

  4. Stories by Karen – USA – Black began writing in 2010, combining imagination and experience to weave dramatic plots with believable characters in descriptive contemporary settings. She writes in a variety of genres, her character-driven storylines filled with adventure and drama in real-life situations. A four-legged character appears in most of her publications, a testament to her passion for animals. The author of novels, novelettes, and short stories, her books have received awards from Readers’ Favorite, Page Turner Awards, Literary Titan, International Impact, and KCT International Literary, along with accolades from Kirkus Reviews. Black lives in the United States with her husband, and two alien creatures disguised as cats. One of them, her muse, is rumored to be ET’s second cousin. The rumor, however, has not been confirmed.
    Karen Black says:

Congratulations, Pat! Kindle is great but there’s nothing like holding a real book you published. 🤗

    1. Hello My Dear Karen,

How right you are. I really didn’t think that having an actual book in the hand was important until my readers started asking me when I was going to have a print version. The world hasn’t changed that much.
Thank you for coming by and have a lovely day.😘🤗👩🏾✌️🏾

I am also a host/producer of internet radio shows; (find me on Blog Talk Radio) my own shows as well as shows that other people host. Since I was a little girl I have been a singer and fronted bands for years. People everywhere are wearing my jewelry and eating the food I create and sell. In my spare time I am a mentor/guide for others along their personal and professional paths. Thank you for joining me here and be sure to let me know what I can help YOU with!
    Annette Rochelle Aben says:

SO very happy for you dear Pat!

    1. My Dear Annette,
Thank you so much. I have been so busy getting this project together. I’ve learned a lot.
      Have a lovely day.
      Shalom shalom

  6. It’s a great feeling, isn’t it, Pat? I always get some paperback copies because I speak at bookstores in the area. I reviewed this book on Amazon, and I hope you saw it.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Wanda

    1. Good Morning, Wanda,
Thank you very much for your review and for dropping by. I saw your review this morning. Marian Beamen mentioned in her review that she would have like to know more about the two characters and suggested a prequel which I will think about. What I don’t want to do is change the story. My readers are pretty smart and they expect that I stimulate their minds and broaden their perspectives. However, I don’t mind writing a prequel sometimes in the future to introduce the Gianluca and Aniyah.
Take care of yourself and have a lovely day.
      Shalom shalom

    1. Good Morning, Marian,
I saw your review on Amazon this morning. Thank you so much. Your take has me thinking about doing a prequel to the story. I really don’t want to rewrite the story. The way the story is now accomplishes for me exactly what I want it to do. I have more than enough material left over that I haven’t used because I do character profiles on all my characters. Therefore, I am thinking about your suggestion.
Learning how to format with Vellum pushed me, but I got it and now I wouldn’t change it for nothing in the world. I learn every day that it is the hard things that make me grow.
Thank you so much for stopping by and a special htanks for the review.
All the best and take care.
      Shalom shalom

    2. Jacqui Murray – Laguna Hills, CA. – Jacqui Murray is the author of the popular prehistoric fiction saga, Man vs. Nature which explores seminal events in man’s evolution one trilogy at a time. She is also the author of the Rowe-Delamagente thrillers and Building a Midshipman, the story of her daughter’s journey from high school to United States Naval Academy. Her non-fiction includes over a hundred books on integrating tech into education, reviews as an Amazon Vine Voice, and a freelance journalist on tech ed topics. Look for her next prehistoric trilogy.
      Jacqui Murray says:

I’m so glad you included the link, Marian. Thank you.

  7. Susanne Matthews – Hi! I live in Eastern Ontario. I'm married with three adult children and five wonderful grandchildren. I prefer warm weather, and sunshine but winter gives me time to write. If I’m listening to music, it will be something from the 1960s or 1970s. I enjoy action movies, romantic comedies, but I draw the line at slasher flicks and horror. I love science fiction and fantasy as well. I love to read; I immerse myself in the text and, as my husband says, the house could fall down around me, and I’d never notice. My preferences are as varied as there are genres, but nothing really beats a good romance, especially one that is filled with suspense. I love historical romance too, and have read quite a few of those. If I’m watching television, you can count on it being a suspense — I’m not a fan of reality TV, sit-coms, or game shows. Writing gives me the most pleasure. I love creating characters that become real and undergo all kinds of adventures. It never ceases to amaze me how each character can take on its own unique personality; sometimes, they grow very different from the way I pictured them! Inspiration comes from all around me; imagination has no bounds. If I can think it, imagine it, I can write it!
    Susanne Matthews says:

The first step is often the hardest. Congrats on making it. Wishing you much success on your writing journey.

    1. Good Morning Susanne, You are so correct, the first step is the hardest. If I had known that, I probably wouldn’t have taken the step.
Thank you so much for coming by.
      Shalom shalom
