“You’ll be working close to me to Maria and me. Confidential information will be tossed back and forth between us, words spoken that no one needs to hear but us. I’d prefer that you worked from the suite. That’s why we have that extra office across from mine.”
“Point taken,” Phoebe said as Maria opened the door and looked at her.

It is WIPpet Wednesday. Many thanks to Emily Witt, who initiated this wonderful WIPpet gathering.  I am still working out of boxes, but the boxes are fewer than before, and I am not complaining. I am elated. Just hooked up my hp wireless printer, successfully.

  So, here goes for today:

  • What have I read?

Fiction Writing Modes, Eleven Essential Toos for Bringing Your Story to Life, by Mike Klassen, and A French Girl On The Prairie by Fred Pirat.

What am I reading?

Still reading PEAK: Secrets From The New Science Of Expertise by Anders Ericsson and Robert Pool, How To Become A Writer by Barbara Baig, and I Was Right On Time, My Journey from the Negro Leagues to the Majors, Buck O’Neil with Steve Wulf and David Conrad.

  • What do I plan to read next?

My GRL by John Howell, The Violin Man’s Legacy by Seumas Gallacher and Flash 40 Life’s Moments by Janelle Jalbert, The Last Coach by Allen Barra, and My Personal Best by John Wooden with Steve Jamison.

My Snippet is composed of 17 paragraphs, give or take, minus 2.

Background and summary: Phoebe is in Daniel’s office, reporting to her new workplace and they are having a discussion. Daniel wanted to know if he could help and Phoebe turned him down because she knows the questions will come when she gets home in the evening, and the shock has worn off. Daniel makes a famous statement that she can’t deal with at the moment.

                                                          ***

“If you need me, don’t hesitate to ask me, Phoebe.”

“Okay. Change of subject. Is it necessary for me to work in the suite?”

“You're the project leader, and I want you here. That’s the way it’s done by us. Why?”

“Because I think I can do it from my office on the third floor.”

“You have a phone call from home," Maria said to Phoebe.

"Place the call here, Maria," Daniel said before Phoebe could move to go to Maria's desk.

When the call came through, Phoebe answered it not quite sure how Daniel would take her receiving family calls at work.

“Hello,” she said as she heard the voice on the other end.

“Phoebe, don’t forget you have to be home by three for my soccer game.”

“I know Quad 1. I promised to be there, and I’ll be there.”

“If I score, can we go to the Italian ice cream parlor on Beethoven Street?”

“It’s your first game, Quad 1.”

“Please, Phoebe.”

“All right. After soccer, we’ll go to the ice cream parlor. Now, may I go back to work."

"See you at four. Love you, Phoebe," Quad 1 said on the phone.

Love you too, sweetie. Bye bye. “

That's all, folks. Be safe.

As Phoebe approached the table, her eyes widened as she regarded the one person she didn’t expect to see gazing at her.
“Is something wrong, Phoebe?” Daniel asked, forcing her to look at him.

It is WIPpet Wednesday. Many thanks to Emily Witt, who initiated this wonderful WIPpet gathering.   I am still running behind. I now have a large container in my driveway. I am almost finished with clearing out my basement.

So, it is time for me to share the books I have read, the books I am reading, and what I plan to read in the future and my WIPpet for this week.

So, here goes:

  • What have I read?

The Miracle of Small Things By Guilie Castillo-Oriard

What am I reading?

I haven’t started on anything. Getting my basement clear and keeping up with my writing are priorities one and two.

  • What do I plan to read next?

Christine’s Odyssey (Simms Siblings Series by J.L. Campbell, and Broken Pieces by Kathleen Long

My WIPpet: I am continuing with the novel that I am writing and revising on Wattpad.

(My math is simple: June is the sixth month, and I have six paragraphs.

A little bit of history from last week: They are still at the Gala. Daniel attends for the first time. He hears Phoebe sing her first set and feels inspired. Now the band is taking a break and Phoebe heads to their table not knowing that Daniel is a part of the party. The last line from last week was,

“Here, she comes,” Peter said. “Maybe, we should put what happen today aside until the appropriate time.”

***

“Yes, I agree. I don’t want our singer walking out because someone asks her why she’s not on stage,” Kirk said, sarcastically and looked at Daniel.

“Kirk, that’s not fair. Give me a chance to correct my mistake.”

“Mistakes, Boss,” Maria said.

“Okay, agreed, mistakes.”

As Phoebe approached the table, her eyes widened as she regarded the one person she didn’t expect to see gazing at her.

“Is something wrong, Phoebe?” Daniel asked, forcing her to look at him.

That’s it, folks.

Until next week,

“Will do. Good luck, cause once Phoebe makes up her mind, it is barely impossible to get her to change it.”

Hello Everyone,

It is WIPpet Wednesday, and I have been away for two weeks to finish my manuscript. I am now participating in the A to Z Blog Challenge 2016 and the IWSG Wednesday, which is today also. I am still working on my late responses on my blogs. So, please hang in there with me.

So, it is now time for me to share the books I have read, the books I am reading, and what I plan to read in the future and my WIPpet for this week.

So, here goes:

  • What have I read?

Haven’t finished anything I started because I am very busy in the A to Z Blog Challenge 2016.

  • What am I reading?

Still reading, Judging by Derek Prince and An Unsuitable Job for a Woman by P.D. James.

  • What do I plan to read next?

I Wish You Were Mine by Lauren Layne and Runaway Man by David Handler.

My WIPpet is composed of seventeen paragraphs (4+13=17).

Background: Phoebe has told Peter she is quitting and heads to her office. Now, Peter calls Maria, Daniel’s secretary to find out what is behind Phoebe wanting to leave the company.

WIPpet:

When Phoebe departed Peter's office, Peter called Daniel Cochran, one of his best friends and also his boss. He, Kirk, and Daniel had been friends since their high school days.  Knowing that Daniel had planned to tell Phoebe about the quads, he wondered what went wrong at their meeting. He knew Daniel would be livid about her resignation.

"Maria put Daniel on the phone; it's urgent."

"He's just left to go to a marketing meeting."

"Well, when he gets back, let him know that he's just forced Kirk's best employee out of the door."

"You mean Phoebe has quit? She can't do that; she has the kids."

"I know that, but she's determined and right now she's on her way to her office to write out her resignation and inform Kirk."

"Oh no. I knew something was wrong when she walked out of here. I could feel her rage. I'm surprised she didn't explode before she reached the door to the hallway."

"What did Daniel say to her, Maria?"

"I don't know; the door was closed."

"Did he shout at her?"

"If he did, I couldn't hear him but you know how he is with her. His tone changes and instead of being carefree, his voice becomes harsh and fill with sarcasm."

"Okay, tell him to call me a.s.a.p. I need to call Kirk. My ears are burning, so he must be shouting at me."

"Will do. Good luck, cause once Phoebe makes up her mind, it is barely impossible to get her to change it."

"You're not telling me anything, I don't already know," Peter said and hung up to give Kirk a quick call before he went to his staff meeting.

When Phoebe walked into her department, Kirk McBride was waiting on her.

"Morning, Chief."

"My you're mighty chipper this morning. Then the appointment with Daniel was not bad at all. See, I told you yesterday; you didn't have a thing to worry about, so pay up. I won the bet," Kirk said.

Preparing her briefcase in her office, Phoebe heard a loud crash, and She ran to her kitchen

Hello Everyone,

I am still reading the books I listed on the WIPpet two weeks ago. I want to get through some of those before I add something new.

Here is my WIPpet Wednesday from Just At Dawn. The day, 3 + 2 which is the month and came up with five sentences.

Preparing her briefcase in her office, Phoebe heard a loud crash, and She ran to her kitchen.

“What happened?”

“I wanted to feed Prexie.” Quad 3 said.

“Well, get one of your sisters to help you clean up your mess. I can still make it to work on time if we leave in the next 15 minutes.”

That is all. I'll see you next Wednesday.

Shalom Aleichem,

Pat
